> Theory, not fact. Blockspace Value Theory is a living document and an untested thesis. BTP and BYTES are drafts describing things that do not exist.

[BYTES](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/bytes-token/) is a draft, version 0.2 of 2026-07-29, describing a token that does not exist. The draft describes a fungible token minted by attributing a transaction's consumed blockspace to it, one token per byte, so 1 BYTES equals 1 byte. Its stated aim is to make the price of a consumed kilobyte directly observable: the BYTES price times 1,000.
