# Architecture Decision Record

How the Degent code makes a significant decision: a new component or service, a change of data flow, a signing or custody model, security architecture, a breaking contract change, or a new dependency on a service the project does not run. An ADR is proposed in a pull request under `docs/adr/`, open for comment for at least 5 business days, and accepted by the owning team or teams. An accepted ADR is never edited; a later ADR supersedes it.
