# block subsidy

The part of a miner's revenue for a [block](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/block/) that is not fees. Blockspace Value Theory (v3.0, July 2026) gives the current block subsidy as 3.125 BTC, says it "currently dominates miner revenue and is identical for every block", and discusses what changes as it approaches zero and fees become the reward.
