# consequence principle

The Shared Claim Axiom's rule that a token claims bytes "iff the protocol assigned those bytes a consequence in that token's state": creation, transfer, burn or any state change. The B19 draft (2026-07-31, not applied to the axiom) proposes demoting it to a description; BTI's ruleset v1 treats it as "the description", with a counterfactual test as the gate.
