# label

Under ruling U3, "a token is exactly what can be transferred by itself, proven on chain; everything else is a label on one". A label never claims bytes; it rides a token. Bitmap district numbers and sat names are labels on inscribed sats, a stamp number is a label on a Counterparty asset, SRC-721 is a label on a Counterparty asset, and SPOOL's PIECE is a label.
