# pointer counter

A [counter](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/counter/) whose content is a single URI token (`ipfs:`, `ar://`, `http(s)://`) rather than a file. It is a full, valid counter, but only the pointer is on chain. A counters server shows the pointer text and never fetches it; counters.fun does not display pointer counters at all.
