# The blockspace price

Live: asking prices per kilobyte of blockspace across marketplaces, from every listing that can be read. It powers blockspace.markets.

**Status on [blockspacelabs.com](https://blockspacelabs.com): Live**, the sixth card in the Live group.

## What it is

The Labs site describes it as "asking prices per kilobyte of blockspace across marketplaces, from every listing we can read. It powers blockspace.markets." Tokens on Bitcoin are listed for sale on many marketplaces. Each token is backed by a number of bytes, so each asking price can be turned into a [price per KB](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/price-per-kb/) of blockspace. The project gathers those asks onto one board, [the buy board](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/buy-board/), and sorts them by that price.

[blockspace.markets](/projects/blockspace.markets/) is the public page built from it: in its own words, "Blockspace for sale, priced per kilobyte."

## What the card shows

The card shows how many asks are on the board. In the reading of 2026-10-20 09:07:11 UTC there were 167,662. The wiki keeps no live reading of the board of its own; that figure is the Labs site's, with its date.

## Links

The card links to https://blockspace.markets and to the buy board at https://block.space/buy. The Research card [testing the BVT](/research/testing-the-bvt/) proposes to use these prices to test Blockspace Value Theory: does the price per kilobyte track attributed bytes?
