# Litecoin and Dogecoin blockspace

Research: Litecoin's and Dogecoin's blockspace measured the way block.space measures Bitcoin's. No Litecoin or Dogecoin node runs yet; the study starts when one does.

## What it studies

The Labs site describes it as "their blockspace measured the way block.space measures Bitcoin's": a byte census, and the share carried by Litecoin inscriptions (Litebars) and Dogecoin inscriptions (Doginals).

So the study would bring two of block.space's measures to two other chains:

- a byte census, like [Bitcoin's](/concepts/byte-census-t1/), counting every block's bytes by region;
- the share of those bytes carried by inscriptions: on Litecoin, the share carried by [Litebars](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/litebars/), a collection held by [Blockspace Holdings](https://blockspace.wiki/glossary/blockspace-holdings/); on Dogecoin, the share carried by Doginals, Dogecoin's inscriptions.

## Where it stands

It cannot start yet. The card says: "No Litecoin or Dogecoin node runs on this server yet; the study starts when one does." Its data is "Litecoin and Dogecoin full nodes (not yet running)". It is a descriptive card, and no figures for either chain are claimed.
