What is carriage?

Bytes a token merely rode: measured in full, never counted as backing.

Carriage is the bytes of a transaction a token merely rode: a payment or consolidation that would have happened anyway and carried the token along. BTI measures carriage in full but never counts it as backing. Carriage answers what moved through the blockspace; backing answers what it was bought for.
