What it is #

The Labs card is short: "The thesis behind the meter, in its own words a living document and an untested thesis." Blockspace Value Theory is the document behind block.space's meter, which shows how much of Bitcoin's blockspace is attributed to tokens. Labs lists it as Research, not Live, because it is a thesis and has not been tested.

What the wiki says about it #

The theory has its own page, Blockspace Value Theory, which describes what BVT proposes and labels it as theory throughout. Two related pages are also theory: attribution and the axiom, and the Atomicals natural experiment, which the documents propose as a case to test the thesis against.

How Labs would test it #

A separate Research card, testing the BVT, describes an empirical test: does the price per KB of blockspace track the bytes attributed to each token? It would compare the Live projects the blockspace price and the Blockspace Token Indexer. No result is claimed.
