What it is #

blockspace.markets is the secondary market for blockspace: bytes already consumed, resold as inscribed assets priced per kilobyte. Its counterpart for new bytes, the cost of space in upcoming blocks, is space.market.

blockspace.markets is "blockspace for sale, priced per kilobyte". In its own words, it shows every asset listed for bitcoin on the venues the block.space buy board watches, ranked by what a kilobyte of its blockspace costs.

Status #

Live, as of 2026-10-20. The project list marks it live from 2026-10-19.

How it works #

A static page is rebuilt every 10 minutes from the buy board's public listing data. The wallet and buying flow stay in one place, at block.space/buy. The page shows the cheapest blockspace of each kind (Counterparty and inscriptions), the 50 cheapest listings overall, and each venue's live listings with the time it was last read. A listing's price is the venue's asking price; its blockspace is what block.space's books attribute to the asset under Book A, read at the books height named on the listing. The ranking is in sats per kB. A listing is an offer, not a sale.

Key figures #

The site has no live figure of its own in this wiki. At 09:22 UTC on 20 October 2026 the page ranked 167,648 listings: 143,232 inscriptions and 24,416 Counterparty listings. The cheapest blockspace then was 38 sats per kB for an inscription and 115 sats per kB for a Counterparty asset.

Glossary #

Book A
The inclusive book: the whole transactions bought for a token, shared where shared. When several tokens share a transaction, its bytes divide among them under the Shared Claim Axiom. In the partition it is content + structure + overhead, "bytes bought for you at all", and it is the backing measure. Fees follow Book A.
sats per kB
The price blockspace.markets ranks listings by: a listing's asking price in sats divided by the blockspace block.space's books attribute to the asset (Book A), per kilobyte (1 kB = 1,000 B). A listing is an offer, not a sale.
the buy board
block.space's board of assets listed for bitcoin on the venues it watches, ranked by sats per kB, with the buy flow at block.space/buy. blockspace.markets is a static page built from its public listing data every 10 minutes.
