Full-RBF in practice
Research: count the replacements the Labs mempool sees with full-RBF on, and which of them reach blocks.
Status on blockspacelabs.com: Research.
What it studies #
The Labs site describes it in one sentence: it "counts the replacements our mempool sees with full-RBF on, and which of them reach blocks."
Full-RBF is a relay policy setting about replacing unconfirmed transactions in a node's mempool. The Labs node runs with full-RBF on and an incremental relay fee of 1 sat/vB (as of block 972,308, 2026-10-20 11:17:25 UTC). The study counts the replacements that node sees, then checks which versions end up in blocks.
The data it will use #
"bitcoind mempool events against blocks": the Labs node's own record of what entered and left its mempool, set against the blocks that follow. It is a descriptive card; nothing is counted yet and no results are claimed.
