the partition
Also: content, structure and overhead, book partition
The three disjoint parts BTI stores for each book entry, one entry per transaction and token: content (the artifact body), structure (the other bytes that exist because of the token: carrier framing, protocol outputs, funding inputs) and overhead (the dedicated remainder share, including enablers such as commits and CPFP; zero for riders). The books are sums over them: Book C = content, Book B = content + structure, Book A = all three.
Because the books are built by addition, C ≤ B ≤ A holds by construction.
